Hot Hot Hot Haute Show

Well Saturday was the Hot Hot Hot Haute Wearable Art Show in Las Vegas.
I had worked all week on this fused glass accented top for the show. Modeled by my fabulous daughter Ashley.
And did she look Hot!
The top is a black jersey with fused glass pieces strung on a chunky gold chain. The glass is a combo of transparent orange and clear glass. The chains are detachable to use as necklace, or attach to jeans or anything you may want to do with it.
If interested in owning your own. contact me.

Falling Leaves Art the process

Thought I'll show the process on my latest piece of Glass Art. This one is titled "Falling Leaves"
I've always loved trees and since fall is here I wanted to capture a tree with fall colors...
First step is to glue 2 10" pieces of fusible 90 coe glass together, then by cutting glass pieces in various sizes I begin to layout the structure of the the tree, trunk, branches and the finally the leaves. After cutting all the pieces it is like putting a puzzle together. Then each piece is tacked on the base plate with a dot of glue finally it is ready for the kiln. I never know what I will find when working with glass. It is not an exact science, so it is always a surprise how the final piece turns out. This particular project the circuit breaker kick off and I had to re-fire the whole project. So here are some photos from beginning to end...

Well our dogs are all dressed up and no where to go.
So guess I'll have to take them to the dog park to show off their new outfits this weekend.
These adorable sweaters were created by ShaggyChic on etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5578507
Chico sat and posed for me he is such a ham... Pickles the (Furry one) hardly could sit still.
He did like the taste of the sweater!
I'm sure he'll appreciate it more when the weather gets a bit colder.

Day 2 of Vacation Antwarp Belguim
Antwarp was a sleepy little town known for Diamond Cutting. Since we didn't have any extra cash for buying any diamonds we decided to walk around the town and really enjoyed this. The town is a mix of old and new which they have managed to work out quite well.
I'd been so rushed getting ready for the trip I had neglected to get a hair cut. So while we wandered around the town I found a small beauty shop with a Tall handsome Belgium Man who was able to help me out with a nice hair cut and style! After we walked around town and headed back to the ship one of our daily naps. Turns out naps were a regular event for us. I never nap at home but being away from computers, work, phones meant it was nice to have the "time" to nap or read or just sit by the pool and veg!

Back from Vacation.....
Well two weeks in Europe is awesome and exhausting. We've recently returned from our cruise which started in Amsterdam and ended in Barcelona. In Amsterdam we were amazed by how many traveled on bicycles. Our trip started in Amsterdam after we flew in from Las Vegas which was a total of 20 plus hours of travel and waiting in airports. We were quite Jet Lagged. We boarded the Century Ship and was amazed to find out we had been upgraded to a Cabin on the back of the ship with a sitting room and balcony, what a great start! The city is so pretty, canals are one way to get around the other main way of transportation was by walking or bikes. We had two days to visit in Amsterdam but the second day was mainly used for sleep. We had such a bout of Jet lag. Next stop Antwarp Belguim.
